Essential fatty acids are a type of fat which are found primarily in things like fish, nuts and some fruits like avocadoes. They are a relatively simple line of molecules and fats, but they are essential for many of the functions of the body and the body cannot synthesize them on its own. This makes it imperative for humans to take in essential fatty acids from somewhere else, namely the food they eat.

Where Can You Find Essential Fatty Acids?

There are lots of foods which contain essential fatty acids; chances are you have most of what you need already and may just require that extra push. What foods have essential fatty acids in them?

  • Oily fish such as salmon
  • Shellfish
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Hemp oil
  • Chia seeds
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Leafy veggies
  • Walnuts

You can also take essential fatty acid supplements if you have a hard time eating any of these foods on a regular basis.

Essential Fatty Acids and the Female Sex Drive

So what do these fatty acids have to do with libido? Simple!

Essential fatty acids form not only the building blocks for things like muscles and cellular structure, but are also important for your sex drive. They form the foundation of female (and male) sex hormones and help the body absorb vitamins like A,E, and K which help you to feel more energetic. And essential fatty acids help your body produce more moisture in the hair, skin and vagina which in turn of course means more lubrication. As you can see, these little fatty acids have you pretty well covered so far as anything to do with sex and arousal are concerned!
